When Pistol and Nym refuse to act as his go-betweens, he dismisses them from his service. Falstaff plans to seduce Mistress Ford and Mistress Page to gain access to their husbands’ wealth. Act 1, scene 3 Falstaff, in desperate need of funds, dismisses his servant Bardolph, who enters the employ of the Host of the Garter.Act 1, scene 2 Sir Hugh sends Slender’s servant Simple with a letter to Mistress Quickly asking her to intercede with Anne Page on Slender’s behalf.Falstaff meets Mistress Ford and Mistress Page, and Slender clumsily attempts to court Anne Page. There they meet Sir John Falstaff, whom Shallow accuses of killing his deer, while Slender accuses Falstaff’s men of robbing him. Act 1, scene 1 Justice Shallow and his nephew Slender accompany Sir Hugh the parson to the Pages’ home.Two of Anne Page’s suitors elope with boys in disguise while Anne marries her chosen suitor, Fenton. Finally, Falstaff is lured to a comical nighttime rendezvous where all of Windsor comes together, Falstaff is publicly humiliated, and Ford admits his folly. Falstaff hides in a basket of dirty laundry and is thrown in the river.Another visit ends similarly: Falstaff disguises himself as “the fat woman of Brentford,” whom Ford hates. As Falstaff visits Mistress Ford, Mistress Page announces that Ford is coming. The wives, however, trick Falstaff and Ford.
